THE DORSET BUSINESS AWARDS 2017

Investing in Dorset Award

At UK Health Insurance, we are passionate about supporting local businesses and the local Dorset economy and are keen to encourage other companies to do the same.

What are the Dorset Business Awards?

The DBAs celebrate the achievements of Dorset’s businesses, large or small across the county and across all sectors. The awards reward the county’s high achievers, our inspirational leaders and our unsung heroes.

The UK Health Insurance Investing in Dorset Award was a brand new category for 2016 and we are delighted to be sponsoring this category again in 2017 which so closely reflects our own passion for supporting local businesses.

Why the Investing in Dorset Award?

“Our philosophy is simple. When we need to make a purchase, whether it’s a product or service, the first question we ask ourselves is, can it be bought from a local company? We would like to challenge all Dorset businesses to adopt the same philosophy.

“By creating positive business relationships with other local business, successful entrants will understand and realise the benefits of supporting Dorset’s businesses and purchasing supplies and services locally whenever possible.”
Alistair Sclare, Managing Director, UK Health Insurance

You can find more details about the investing in Dorset Award and the free online entry form on the Dorset Business Awards website.

Why is supporting Dorset businesses so important?

If we all source goods and services more locally we can all win, generating a host of benefits and opportunities for the region’s businesses:

  • More locally successful businesses
  • Higher productivity
  • More personal service
  • Greater customer satisfaction
  • Improved local employment prospects
  • Lower delivery costs
  • Lower carbon footprint
  • Less traffic…

Looking after our local economy is very important to us as a business and this award is one way that we can showcase and reward other Dorset companies that endeavour to source goods and services locally.
